Point - Another reason this is shocking is because Antonio  is willing to die for bassanio .
Evidence - Bassanio went to antonio and asked for money but antonio did not have money to give bassanio , which is called  a bond  . and agreed of a pound of flesh . Beacause they are very close and good friends and they wanted to save his life .
