Act Four, Scene Two
1. What invitation does Portia refuse and why?Portia refuses Bassanio's dinner invitation (as delivered by Graziano). Graziano has brought her the ring, explaining that Bassanio changed his mind after hearing more counsel on the matter. Portia takes the ring and goes back to her business of finding Shylock's place.
2.What does Nerissa plan to get, why do you think this is important?
she plan to run away. or
Portia announces that their plan is to go away tonight and be home before their husbands return tomorrow. Portia notes that Lorenzo will be stoked about Shylock's deed of gift (though she leaves out how Lorenzo will feel about Shylock becoming a broken, defeated man).
3.Do you admire Portia after these scenes, or do you find her actions cruel. Use examples to support your thinking ?
